3 – Volunteer your time.

We have an ever growing need for people to help at the training facility and in our offices. We also have a need for volunteers who can work from their home for a few hours each week. Sign Up Today!

We are a 501c(3) Non-Profit and your generous donation to WFW allows us to help hundreds of veterans.

Meet a wounded veteran….

Wounded Veteran Cory Stone“I have learned so much working side by side with my instructors. My time here has really improved my skills. I was able to get a job interview with John Deere and Caterpillar. I really want to be able to get my certification at Workshops for Warriors and move back to Wisconsin with my wife” -Corey Stone 22 ,USMC

Corey suffered major injuries from a gunshot wound to his face, spent 6 months in a rehabilitation hospital learning how to eat, talk and walk all over again. He has endured many surgeries and yet he hasn’t given up the fight. We see him everyday learning invaluable welding and machining skills and he is on his way to obtaining a certification that will be the start of a promising career for him. He is a true inspiration and an amazing example of courage and determination to all of us who know him.

Our mission….

Provide vocational training in San Diego to veterans of the US Armed Services.  We provide a safe environment in which veterans receive vocational training, commercially-viable work experience, job-placement, and an opportunity to contribute to the community. Veterans are consistently facing significant barriers to employment, in California nearly one in four veterans ages 18-24 were unemployed in 2009, almost double the unemployment rate for the civilian population, and this figure continues to rise. Please help us train veterans so we can facilitate access to good jobs for Americans who have already served their country.
